The Project:

Nestled on the banks of Lake Winnipeg sits the quaint little fishing town of Gimli, Manitoba. With a rich Icelandic history dating back to the late 1800's, we thought it was only fitting that the Flatland Coffee rebrand pay tribute to the history of the area. We designed a custom font which is heavily inspired by Nordic culture, using shapes and lettering found on runes and other artifacts. To round out the branding we incorporated illustrations focusing on Gimli's famous 15-foot viking statue as well as some other local activities. If you're ever visiting Gimli drop into Flatland and treat yourself to some of the most delicious coffee we've ever tasted.
